I went to the Houston Zoo this weekend for another one of the Photo Day events. I attended an activity with the Meerkats. The keeper was feeding them bugs and pointed out that at least one or more Meerkats will take sentry duty while the others are eating. They will go to the highest place and watch for predetators as the others eat. I thought this was an interesting fact. It was a great day...just hot and very humid in the morning as they open for photographers at 7am....two hours before the general public.
